ha... this is so cool... my second post of the day.... hmm... i wonder if i could do that everyday... woah... if like that i will sure spend lots of time blogging manz... but anyway, if it means that i could reflect on my actions at the end of the day, why not?
Well, this post will be dedicated to what i have gained from the youth meeting today... so here it goes...
Today's youth meeting is still on the saints' sharings on what they have gained during the conference held on 3-6 dec and 2 special nights' meetings on the 8th and 9th of dec. well... apparently, i did not have the courage to stand up and share cos i found my enjoyment a little personal... but then as ee shan said that if u stand up to speak, u will gain a lot... guess i have lost a lot by not sharing today :( soo... to make up for the loss i will be sharing my testimony later... but for now, let me recall what was being shared first :)
Bro. benard started the ball rolling by reading a lot of verses from 1 and 2 timothy, 1 corinthians and 2 peter (and some more others which i kinda forget). But, while reading through all those verses, his main point was that we need to run the heavenly race such that we can obtain the imperishable crown by running finish the race, we need to exercise unto godliness cos it's profitable for all things and on top of that, preach His word in season and out of season. Then after his sharing, sis hui nee stood up and continued to share on how we always self proclaim ourselves as kings in the house of the living God. Later that, many other saints stood up to share... was quite touched by their experiences with the Lord...
Well, throughout all the sharings, the one point that has the most impact on me is that we need to tame our mouths and not to gossip about others. Also, the point about prayers being very important also once again reminded me to turn back to the Lord again. I Amen to all the sharings and esp. the 2 above because i always fall short of His standards. Everytime when we talk to our friends, we will like to talk about other people's gossips that does not edify one another, but instead it may cause people to have misunderstandings with each other... Oh Lord, pls help me and others to tame our mouths so that we may not speak things out that are meant to be a secret. "If you have nothing good to say about this person, don't speak". Amen :)
haha... now my turn to share... well, there was this night meeting during the conference where our brother john so said that we should not sympathise with ourselves and that we should tell the Lord that "I am like that already, if u want take it, if not leave it" because He will sure leave it one... in order to become useful vessels for His house, we need to be able to submit to Him and let Him mould us. We also need to do things that pleases Him, even if it means doing things that we dislike, like always obey your parents. And well, that sort of reminded me of the time how i disobeyed my mum before the conference and how i would always go to my bed and cry to the Lord, telling Him how right i was and how wrong my mum was after we had arguements over things like the way i dress and my 'correct' behaviours. hmm... now come to think of it, i really need to exercise godliness by walking the way of the cross... that's why when you take a look at my conference booklet, you will see the sentence "I will not argue back with my mummy, daddy and ah mah-> 忍!!" haha... May the Lord grant me strength to really humble myself down before my elders and as far as possible, listen to their words of advice without doing the wrong things before the eyes of God. Oh Lord Jesus... mould me to be like u....
well, before i end off, i would like to share these verses to you all which i kind of pondered before the Lord and found it quite meaningful. Hope anyone who passes by my blog enjoys reading it...
2 Peter 1:5-10
"But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, to brotherly kindess love. For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins. Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble."
Amen. I love youth meetings :)
