Yesterday was a hard core 10-hour straight CIP fundraising for "Build 4 Hope" Project for Habitat for Humanity @ Bedok Interchange...
ok... not exactly 10 hours... 7 hours were used for asking of donations, 3 hours were spent eating, traveling by bus, and slacking... The whole time standing there asking for donations was tiring and repetitive (cos have to keep on asking: "would you like to donate" and "Thank you" in English and Mandarin...). Nevertheless, it was quite an enriching experience as people come forward to donate money... knowing that your hard work indeed has paid off...
haha, and guess what, I also had the chance to make new friends... with the Uncle and Auntie selling snacks and drinks along the pathway where the buses stop for the passengers to alight at the bus terminal... they even gave me ate some snacks and had almost offered me a chair to sit down... lol... I really appreciate their kindness and hospitality...
Also, in that day itself, I met old primary school classmates, secondary school classmates and even icomp seniors... so cool sia... most of them donated quite generously... although some didn't have enough small change to help me out... well, i still wanna thank you for the thought :))
Hmm, but something not so pleasant happened too. Around 6 plus, there was this person who looked female to me went and took a look at my pledge card (to tell ppl what the donation's for and to write their names...). She then smiled at me cheekily, turned away and a while later turned back to look at me again.. this time round she approached me even closer... then later for some reason, she turned away and went off... At first i was quite puzzled why she had done that... But then, the snack stall Uncle explained to me that the person had mental problems and that she's actually a he... (cos the person looked quite like a she to me). He also added that he fell out of love(?) or sth then always looked at 'kind' girls cheekily... if not for the Uncle's shout at him (which i didn't heard it for some reason), i dunno what might happened to me... So thank i God for the Uncle there...
Haha... all in all, I wanna thank God for yesterday's wonderful experience that He had given me... so glad to have went for the event...
Oh last but not the least, the Uncle wished that i would advertise his stall to my friends and teachers so here it goes:
If anyone passes by Bedok Interchange and feels thirsty of hungry, pls remember to visit the snack stall next to the Interchange, at the junction where passengers would alight... Oh and he's also having some offer for his snacks too... so do come and support the Uncle...
haha... I guess that's all from me now... see you.
