hello people... I'm back again with some more things to blog. HAHA.
Anyway, this time around, I will blog about the recent children's camp. Theme of this camp is "We are Children of Light", as mentioned in the title :)
These are the pictures/wordings found on the camp T-shirt.
Well, a brief outlook at things... This year with have about 100 children attending the camp (btw, the camp is from 11-13 June 2008), out of which about 40 plus children are gospel friends... and there were about 78 serving ones that include youth leaders and shepherds :)
This time around, we used the portion from Ephesians 5:8-13, 15-25 to tell the children about our status now as children of light, and how should conduct ourselves that is befitting to our status. The primary 3-6 children also underwent a series of activities known as "Mission of the Message Keepers" to understand the above portion better. And there was also craft time where the children made their very own book chain with the verse Ephesians 5:8 inside it.
Okie. It's photos galore time! I'll use the photos to describe more about the camp itself.
Well, the above 2 pictures were those that I took while I was watching the P6s rehearsing their skit for the concert night (i.e. on 13th June night). It's a collaboration between the P5s and the P6s. For now, they were practising separately because both levels take charge of different parts of the skit. Anyway, the skit was about how the story of John Newton touched the heart of a P6 kid, Toby, to not discriminate his new thai classmate (played by Dawn). Well, Toby is the boy wearing brown and white striped collar shirt whereas Dawn is not seen in the pictures. Lol.
Later on, I went over to look at how the P5s are rehearsing for their part of the skit. In my opinion la, I think their role was more interesting because they were doing the shadow play while the narrator and voice overs (by the P6s) 'act out' the story of John Newton. This picture was taken 'behind the scenes' but unfortunately, it was a little blur :(. At that moment, they were doing the scene when John Newton was out at the sea when storms happened.
Haha. Day 2. After the tea gathering, some of the youth leaders gathered together to have their share of food. Some had fried rice that were leftovers of lunch (We had our lunch at West Coast Park where we also had our outdoor games there), while others had kueh batik (is that how you spell??) that were left after the tea gathering. Speaking of tea gathering, it's kind of a new thing that was introduced to gather the children by their levels and to interact with one another. More importantly, it was a time for the serving ones to have some time to talk to their buddies and get to understand more of them. For my case, I didn't had much time spending with my buddies because I was busy shuffling around admin, audio and helping out for tea gathering. Well, thank God that at least I still had time to talk to them and know them a little bit.
Haha. That's Selina with Natasha, the youngest of the 4 TohSiblings. Apparently Selina didn't want to have this photo because Natasha didn't smile. But the picture looks ok what... So it's posted up here as well :)
Well, these are the photos for the last day Praise and worship session. The picture at the top was taken earlier when most parents had not arrived to watch the concert put up for them and the gospel friends. They were singing the song "For such a time as this". The picture at the bottom was taken when they were singing "光明之子". Below is a short snippet of the children singing and doing the actions for "光明之子":
Haha. And I love the part when the whole concert had ended off with the kids holding onto their light sticks singing the song "Here I am to worship". Only photos and no video as my phone memory wasn't sufficient to do one.
Well, that's all from me :) I better get going soon... for my lunch... haha. Hope to blog soon again :D
